Cash Account vs customer account - which should I use?

WolfAdmin gives you two ways to record a sale, and choosing the right one keeps your books clean. The video above walks through both.
The Cash Account
For walk-in or once-off customers where keeping a personal account makes no sense. Cash Account sales require the receipt to be added immediately (the sale is paid on the spot), and no per-person statement history is kept.
A customer account
For anyone you will deal with again, or who does not pay immediately. The customer gets a proper statement - every invoice, receipt and credit with a running balance - and you can email invoices and statements, track what they owe, and see their full history.
Rule of thumb
- Paid now, probably never see them again? Cash Account
- Repeat customer, on account, or needs documents emailed? Customer account
The Cash Account can be enabled/disabled in your company settings - retail businesses usually want it on, service businesses often work with customer accounts only.
