With the Salesperson Tips module (optional), tips your customers leave are captured at the till, tracked per salesperson, and paid out at cashup - without ever muddying your own sales figures.
Capturing a tip on a sale
When you create an invoice with its receipt on the same page (always the case on the Cash Account, optional for customer accounts), you will see a Salesperson Tip field under the receipt, with an allocate balance button next to it.
- Card example: the bill is R90 and the customer says "make it R100". Enter R100 as the card payment, click allocate balance, and the R10 difference is filled in as the tip automatically.
- Cash example: the bill is R90, the customer hands over R200 and says "keep R10". Enter R200 as the cash received and set the tip to R10 yourself - WolfAdmin allocates the tip and tells the salesperson that R100 change is due to the customer.
What happens behind the scenes
The tip is recorded separately from the sale: it does not appear on the customer's statement and does not affect your financial reports. WolfAdmin simply tracks it as money owed to the salesperson.
Paying tips out at cashup
On the Cashup page, each salesperson gets extra rows showing tips accumulated in your selected date range and total tips due. Click the pay button to pay a salesperson their tips in cash - it pre-fills the amount owed, which you can adjust if you are paying more or less (eg. rounding for change).
The tips report
A full salesperson tips report is available from the cashup page - filter by date range and by all or individual salespeople. It lists every transaction with dates and times (tips earned from invoices, and your payments to salespeople, each linked to its source) plus totals and running balances.
Corrections and returns
- Made a mistake? Edit the original invoice and its receipt amount (the tip adjusts with it), or edit the payout amounts - the latter needs permission to view other users' figures and manage financial accounts
- Crediting a sale that included a tip? When creating the credit note there is an optional setting to return the tip too - off by default, there if you need it
