How do I import bank statements?

Step 1: Export a CSV from your online banking

Log in to your internet banking and export/download your transaction history as a CSV file. Any bank that can export CSV works, and it does not matter if your exports overlap - WolfAdmin skips duplicate entries automatically.

Step 2: Import it

Go to Financial > Bank and import the file. WolfAdmin recognizes which of your bank accounts the file belongs to.

Step 3: Let the allocations happen

  • Lines matching your rules (eg. bank charges, fuel, rent) are allocated to the right financial accounts automatically
  • Customer payments are matched to customers by payment reference and amounts owed, and become receipts automatically
  • Where WolfAdmin is not sure, it suggests the most likely customers - pick the right one and optionally create a rule so next time it is automatic

Step 4: Review

Anything auto-allocated can be modified on the fly. You can also filter by transaction type and date range - handy for questions like "what did I pay in bank charges last month?".

The more rules you create, the less work each import becomes - many businesses get to the point where an import needs almost no manual attention at all.
